Warning! – This will erase all data on the device

  1. Connect power to the AP (Access Point) via PoE or direct 12V power. The device should light up. If using a power adaptor which wasn’t supplied with the unit, ensure it is capable of providing 12V with at least 1.25A. You will also need to check it is centre positive.Connecting to the Access Point
  2. Connect a roll over cable to the console port on the access point and connect the RS-232/USB end to your computerAccess Point Powered On
  3. Download, install and open Putty on your computer
  4. Select “Serial” and type the correct com port for your computer. If you’re not sure which port number to use, open device manager to list to avaible ports on your computer. In my case it is the USB serial port (COM4).Device Manager Com Port
  5. Set the “Speed” to 115200 and then click “Open”Putty Com4
  6. Click Open. You may just get a blank screen if it has already booted up, so press enter a few times to get the login promptAp732 login
  7. Type “reset” followed by enter
  8. Enter the password “FactoryDefault” and press enter. This will then reset the device and reboot. It will take a few moments to come back online. You should see the boot progress in the console screen.
  9. Once the reboot has been completed you will be prompted to login with the default password (user: admin password: admin123). Note the default password can vary on these devices depending on firmware version.
  10. After the new password has been set. Type “write memory” followed by the return key to save the new password
